Avro Arrow Last Flight 18-Feb-1959
On February 18/1959, the Avro Arrow program concluded with the final flight of Arrow 201. The program’s cancellation was announced the very next day, Thursday, February 19, 1959, resulting in the immediate unemployment of 14,528 Avro employees and approximately 15,000 additional workers in Avro’s supply chain. The Avrow Arrow program remains an important part of Canadian Aerospace history. Did you know that our own Ron Holden was selected to become one of the first flight Instructor pilots for the Arrow just prior to its cancellation?
