First Flight of the De Havilland Canada Dash 7 (27-March-1975)

On the 27th March 1975 the 1st flight of De Havilland DHC-7 takes place. The DHC-7, popularly known as the Dash 7, first flew at Downsview, Ontario, Canada. It is a 4 engine turboprop-powered regional airliner with short take-off and landing (STOL) performance.

Based on the success of the iconic DHC-6 Twin Otter, the DHC-7 “Dash 7” was created as a larger, four-engined aircraft best suited to use as a regional airliner.
